We are the first pioneers trekking The Lost city, initializing our tours through a small village called 'La Tagua'. Then, in 1984 we ventured through a new and better route from a town known as 'El Mamey' which eased tourist access to the old city.

LOST CITY TOUR

The The Lost City is also known by samarians as “'Buritaca' 200“, , given name because it is located at the north slope of the Buritaca river, and 200, because of the number of settlements found in the year 1976.

It is a natural landscape created to discover the enchanted magic of nature mixing the past with the future through its fauna and flora, wrapping the.

TOUR DETAILS LOST CITY

1 DAY - SANTA MARTA – EL MAMEY – CAMPAMENTO 1

Everything begins around 9:00 am at our office, where you will ride a 4WD towards 'El Mamey' for about 3 hours until the region of 'El Mamey' or 'Machete Pelao' (Bare Machete), place where we'll be having lunch to begin our search of the sacred place for the Tayronas (ancient citizens of The Lost City). By the end of the afternoon we'll reach our camp 1, In its surroundings we'll find rivers, natural pools, waterfalls to relax, and then we'll eat. There will be hammocks or beds prepared for you to spend the night.

2 DAY - CAMPING SITE 1 – CAMPAMENTO 2

Early departure, to begin our adventure with an energetic breakfast to initiate our descending trek to the 'Buritaca River' valley, We will find a few indigenous residences in a small village known as 'Mutashi' (belonging to the 'kogui' tribe), Then, we'll continue walking towards the cabin where you'll be spending your second night either in a single bed or a hammock, both equipped with mosquito nets.

3 DAY - CAMPING SITE 2 – CAMPAMENTO 3

Inicia la caminata de 4 horas y media aproximadamente luego de haber tomado el desayuno, partiendo del 2 campamento hacia el 3 campamento “Paraíso Teyuna”, ya en este punto nos encontraremos cerca de nuestro mágico y arqueológico lugar “The Lost City”. Antes de llegar a nuestro 3 campamento disfrutaremos de un delicioso baño en uno de los ríos, apreciaremos la flora y fauna que nos iremos encontrando en el camino. Ya después tendremos espacios para poder descansar y en la noche poder compartir historias y aventuras que nos contara nuestro guía.

DAY 4 - CAMPING SITE 3 – CIUDAD PERDIDA – CAMPAMENTO 2

Early in the morning will begin our day with a delicious breakfast, to begin our ascend towards our highly desired Lost City, We'll climb 1.200 stair steps which'll lead us to the magnificent ruins os the Tayrona empire, Along the way you will encounter stoned walkways built by them, stairs and great walls connected by group of terraces and platforms on which ceremonial sites where built, as well as food storages and more. Once in Teyuna, your guide will show you and provide you with general information about this enigmatic and mystical place, filled with relics and ancient histories, We will spend the morning enjoying a variety of landscapes, having enough time to enjoy this enchanted place and to photograph these magnificent hills, Finally, we will go down to our 3 camping site where you will enjoy a scrumptious lunch to head back to the next camping site 2 for dinner and accomodations.

DAY 5 - CAMPING SITE 2 – CAMPAMENTO 1

Breakfast will be served at 6:30 am. We'll begin our day taking the path 07:00 am. returning to, and enjoying lunch at the cabin near Mutashi resuming our trip in La Sierra until we reach our camping site 1, where we'll eat dinner and rest for the night.

DAY 6 - CAMPING SITE 1 – EL MAMEY

Our last day of adventure begins with breakfast to continue our way back towards the site where everything started in the first place, Through this walk, we will encounter chilli rivers and waterfalls , all the way to 'El Mamey', where you will enjoy food from the region and where our 4WD vehicle awaits for us to take us back to the Beautiful city of Santa Marta 4:00 p.m ó 5:00 pm. You will have enjoyed at its best an enriched adventure above the magical and beautiful Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta .

In this wonderful adventure you'll get the opportunity to enjoy rivers, falls and natural pools given by nature itself; There will be time breaks to enjoy and contemplate majestic landscapes, hidrate yourself and eat fresh fruit. At night, each camping site and its tour guide will join forces with their groups for integration activities and tourist info.

By taking the tour to The Lost City you'll be contributing to the indigenous communities and peasants of the region, suporting their wealth, health and the education of the villagers, as well as the bettering of walking paths. You will also contribute research programs, the conservation and maintnance of Teyuna´s national park, ICANH (Colombian National Institute of Anthropology and History).
